International students who are planning to attend a college or university in the United States should take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam. These scores must be sent to the college or university you choose to attend. Students can sign up at www.toefl.com. Final Exam Policy The purpose of final exams is to assess high school students’ mastery of content over the semester. Sufficient time for exam preparation is expected. All high school students will take final exams which will count 20% toward their final grade. Teachers must include this information on the syllabus presented to students on the first day of the course. All high school courses will require a final exam each semester, including AP courses. Middle school students will take quarter assessments in lieu of final exams. Quarter 1 and 3 quarter assessments for students in grades 5-8 will be scheduled during normal school hours. Middle school students will complete quarter 2 and 4 quarter assessments during the high school exam schedule. Any grade 8 student enrolled in a high school course will be held to the exam schedule of that course and sit for the exam. Final exams are to be taken on the assigned exam day. Any student who is not approved by a Co-Head of School and does not sit for final exams receives a 0% on each exam missed. High school exams will last two hours. Students are expected to remain in the classroom during the entire exam period. | ![]() |
