Real-life scenarios, realistic business situations, and real-world information are used to give students an understanding of the way business works in this class. The goals of the course are to develop students' technical knowledge and competence and to apply critical thinking skills to real-world information regarding business management. Students' classroom experience is further enhanced through a blend of textbook study, visual presentations, and interactive activities in partnership with BusinessWeek magazine.

Units include introduction to management; careers in management; ethics and social responsibility, business, workers and the law; economics; international business; decision-making skills; communication skills; understanding work groups; working with employees; motivation and leadership; managing conflict and stress; managing change, culture, and diversity; and operations control, management information systems.
