Students in grades 6-8 will recieve 90 minutes of math instruction daily throughout the school year. Students will be tested to determine placement in the math curriculum. Prior to pre-algebra students will study math computation and calculations,including decimals, integers, ratio and proprotion, percent, probability, analyzing data, rational numbers, two and three dimensional figures and basic equations. Students who successfully complete the grade 8 program will be tested for placement in pre-algebra. Students who successfully complete pre-algebra will be tested for placement in the high school Algebra I course. High school credit will not be granted for students below grade 9 taking high school math courses.
