Students in Mr. Zawacki’s United States History class are studying the background of the United States Constitution. Anna Letto and Angela Aung explain the benefits of the Land Ordinances of 1785 and 1787 and Shays Rebellion. These were preludes to the establishment of the Continental Congress of May 1787.
Accountability leads to success for the Heritage students and teacher recognized at today’s assemblies. The Heritage community was thrilled to recognize James Brighton (AM Underclassman), Harry Brown (PM Underclassman), Brook Schafer (Middle School), Yuki Nakayama (PM Senior), Nick Russell (AM Senior), and Mrs. Kathy Seyalioglu (Teacher) as Heritage’s February Students and Teacher of the Month. Heritage Academy students and staff were pleased to welcome professional golfer Nick Faldo to our campus! He graciously took time to speak with students about his experiences and to learn more about our school and the great programs we offer! We thank him for including us in his busy schedule!
We are pleased to award five students and two teachers recognition for outstanding and consistent show of respect in class and passion area. The concept of respect centers on how one feels about and treats another person..and him or herself too. Such an important core quality is valuable currency to have and to share in life. Five Heritage seniors signed letters of intent to compete on NCAA Div. I or Div II golf teams for Fall 2015. Heritage Academy hosted this capstone event as a recognition and celebration of scholarship and athleticism. Congratulations to five standouts who had a strategically-planned path to success in the college prep classroom and on the links. Ruling the fairways and greens on their collegiate teams are Charlie Spencer White (DePaul Univ.), Jasmine Chee (Western Michigan Univ.), Melany Chong ( Appalachian St. Univ.), Ankita Kedlaya (East Tennessee St. Univ.), and Nick Russell (Limestone College).
