The Heritage Academy National Honor Society organized the “Pennies for Patients” service project in conjunction with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, for the month of March. The students and staff embraced the project and were very generous this year. NHS members made posters, announcements, heartfelt pitches in classrooms, and daily collections from 3rd and 6th block classes. We had two classes over $100 which earned them each a banner from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to hang in the classroom. The Heritage Academy, Junior Sports Corporation, and Residential Life staff combined donated over $200. The highest donating 3rd and 6th block classrooms will be receiving a pizza party curtsey of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The winners this year are: 1st place morning: Mr. Costaksis’ class with $152.60, 1st place afternoon: Mr. Powell’s class with $119.60. The NHS members want to thank the entire Heritage Academy community for making every penny count!
