The Third year Spanish class is avidly studying the current migration of the Monarch Butterfly from our island of Hilton Head to Michoacan, Mexico, where over 250 million will reside for the winter. Our students have recently recorded sightings of the Monarch in our community and are presenting their findings to the class in their Spanish power point projects. We are learning a great deal in Spanish about our fragile ecosystem!
Mr. Zawacki’s U.S. History students composed a Current Events essay regarding the epic bankruptcy of the city of Detroit. Discussions took place regarding how and why this occurred and who the bankruptcy impacts.
The rich history of Detroit and the government’s plan for resurgence were also widely discussed.
A WARM WELCOME to our new Heritage Academy students and WELCOME BACK to those returning. We're excited about what the 2018-2019 year has in store for each of you!
